A casino is a place that offers players a variety of games of chance. It also offers a wide range of drinks and food. As soon as you walk through the doors of a casino, you will notice that there are no clocks anywhere in sight. The lights flash, the music blares and when someone wins big on a slot machine, cheers erupt. While Casino is not as fast paced as Goodfellas, Scorsese manages to keep the movie riveting till the end. He utilizes masterful editing and taut narration to keep the audience glued to the screen throughout the movie. He also focuses on three main characters which is a major improvement over his previous work. Moreover, the movie provides an in-depth look at the corruption that was centered in Vegas. It reveals how the mafia lost control of this desert city to huge gambling corporations. The film also lays out the intricate web of corruption that was woven around Vegas with tendrils reaching into politicians, Teamsters unions and a mob based out of Kansas City.
