Casino Review

Casino

A casino is a place that offers players a variety of games of chance. It also offers a wide range of drinks and food. Players can choose from a number of different types of games including slot machines, roulette, blackjack, poker, craps, baccarat, and keno. A casino can also be an entertainment venue for its patrons with stage shows and dramatic scenery.

As soon as you walk through the doors of a casino, you will notice that there are no clocks anywhere in sight. This is because casinos want you to lose track of time so that you will keep gambling until you run out of money. The lights flash, the music blares and when someone wins big on a slot machine, cheers erupt. This creates a false sense of possibility that can make players continue to gamble even though they know that their chances of winning are slim to none.

While Casino is not as fast paced as Goodfellas, Scorsese manages to keep the movie riveting till the end. He utilizes masterful editing and taut narration to keep the audience glued to the screen throughout the movie. He also focuses on three main characters which is a major improvement over his previous work. Moreover, the movie provides an in-depth look at the corruption that was centered in Vegas. It reveals how the mafia lost control of this desert city to huge gambling corporations. The film also lays out the intricate web of corruption that was woven around Vegas with tendrils reaching into politicians, Teamsters unions and a mob based out of Kansas City.
